Nitish Roy is a dreamer and explorer of designs and dimensions. delving into the realms of modernity Roy is engaged in weaving combination of unusual forms of colours and concepts. His work covers an extraordinary panorama of projects that includes architecture, landscapes, film art direction etc. Film art direction over 100 films enabled him to perfect his skills. He is the recipient of 3 National awards for renowned films like Mrinal Sen’s kharij (1982), Shyam Benegal’s Mandi(1983) and Gulzar’s Lekin (1991).

 In the early years of his career in the Rural Development Department, Shri Gop was actively involved in implementing various Centrally Sponsored Schemes of the Government of India and State Schemes of the Government of Tripura. These schemes include rural water supply (RWS) scheme, Indira Awas Yojana (IAY): providing low-cost housing for rural poor, Jawahar Rozgar Yojana (JRY) & Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA): Employment generation programs. Over the years, in Urban Development department since 2019, Shri Mihir Kanti Gop has played a significant role in urban planning, urban infrastructure improvement including water supply, sewerage, roads and drains, including implementation of ADB project in urban and Tourism sector (ADB Loan -6037-IND-PRF, TUTDP-ADB Loan -4375 IND, AUCUDP-ADB -Loan-4133- IND), AMRUT water supply projects and GIS based Master Plan projects in 20 towns of the state. His leadership and expertise in water supply, sanitation and urban planning have contributed significantly to the state’s progress.
